Philly’s summer spirit is in full swing, and as July melts into August, this week’s list of things to do in Philadelphia is filled to the brim with concerts, festivals and can’t-miss fun.
Popular annual fests are back like the BlackStar Film Festival (Thursday through Sunday), the Southeast Asian Water Festival at FDR Park (Saturday), the Peach Festival at Peddler’s Village (Saturday & Sunday), the 2nd Street Festival in Northern Liberties (Sunday) and the ACANA African Festival at Cherry Street Pier (Sunday).
Beetlejuice has arrived at the Academy of Music (Tuesday through Sunday).
And it’s an epic week for concerts in Philly, with The Weeknd at Lincoln Financial Field (Wednesday & Thursday), along with performances at venues around the city by Kesha (Tuesday), Lord Huron (Friday) and the Goo Goo Dolls (Sunday) — just to name a few.
Plus, First Friday events take over museums, streets and art galleries all throughout Philadelphia, with art-filled fun at the Science History Institute, the Betsy Ross House, the Museum for Art in Wood and more (Friday).
