It’s go time, Philadelphia! The moment we’ve all been waiting for: America’s 250th birthday, aka the Semiquincentennial, aka Independence Day 2026, is here (cue the fireworks). And the birthplace of the nation goes all out with this blockbuster list of things to do. Ready? Ready.
The city’s spectacular Independence Day season comes to an unforgettable close with the One Philly Unity Concert for America on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway (Saturday). Party it up with headliners Christina Aguilera, Jill Scott, Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Meek Mill, before Philly’s biggest Fourth of July fireworks show lights up the sky.
Wawa Welcome America — Philly’s massive two-week-long Independence Day festival — has a few more tricks (re: events) up its sleeve. Don’t miss the uber-popular Free Hoagie Day at the National Constitution Center (Wednesday), Red White, & Blue To Do throughout the Historic District (Thursday), and more.
Other festive and fun celebrations, like the 50th Birthday Celebration at Valley Forge National Historical Park (Friday to Saturday) and free admission at Elmwood Park Zoo, round out greater Philadelphia’s July Fourth festivities (Saturday).
Beyond the patriotic happenings: The First Bank of the United States reopens its doors for the first time in 50 years to great fanfare (Wednesday). The world’s best footballers also make their final appearance at Philadelphia Stadium during the city’s last FIFA World Cup 26 match (Saturday) — but don’t fret, FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill continues through the end of the tournament.
